About the Role
Provide clerical and program support that is essential for the smooth flow of Workforce Development Division operations such as intake and incoming communications, answering questions about program functions, helping provide easy access to services, and documentation requirements. Processes new applications as received and ensures applicants receive an approval/denial response within 30-days. This position will work directly under the Workforce Development Director.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent. One year relevant work experience preferred. Demonstrate ability to exercise good judgement and communication skills under stressful situations. Demonstrate excellent attendance history in previous employment. Able to learn and follow PL 102.477, Employment & Training and TANF’s regulations. Knowledge of the Maniilaq Service Area, its people, culture and traditions is strongly preferred. Have a strong knowledge base of local and outside educational and employment resources. Prior experience using computers at the beginning level for word processing and data entry. Be familiar with Microsoft software programs word, excel and outlook. Must have the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with people in the service area and state agencies. A valid Alaska driver’s license is preferred. Willing to travel as needed.
